It’s the customer’s responsibility to keep the manual, keys, emergency lowering/opening tool in place by the lift, both for their own use and for technical staff during a troubleshooting/evacuation. These items were handed over to the customer/user by the technician when installing the lift.
Look up the section with troubleshooting/evacuation in the manual and follow the instructions. Each manual has a section describing how to evacuate people from the lift and how to (if possible) fold it so it’s not in the way.
A-Lift (vertical lift in a shaft)
- Check if the emergency stop is activated.
- Check if the main power switch is turned on.
- Check if the key switch is turned on.
- Check if any safety edge is activated. If the lift meets an obstruction, it will stop immediately.
- Check if the doors are closed. If not, close the door.
- If the lift only moves 100 mm from the ground floor it can be a door lock that’s not engaged. Remedied by closing/shaking the doors (carefully) so the lock engages.
- Read the troubleshooting instructions for users in the manual that was handed over at the time of the installation.
- If you have tried all of the above and the lift still doesn’t work properly – please contact Globus

- If the elevator only goes up but not down, the safety edge plate under the platform has probably frozen or is stuck in engaged mode.
- If the lift doesn’t go down properly to the bottom, there is probably ice, snow or debris under the lift.
- Turn off the main power switch for 30 seconds, then turn it back on. Check if the lift works.
- Read the troubleshooting instructions for users in the manual that was handed over at the time of the installation.
